Offices to be elected for are two Councilmembers (4 year terms).

Candidate filings are scheduled for August 02, 2022 - August 16, 2022

Affidavit of Candidacy application (plus a $2.00 filing fee)

Applications must be received by 5:00 pm on Tuesday, August 16, 2022
        (City Hall will be open from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Tuesday, August 16, 2022)

2022 STATE PRIMARY ELECTION will be held on Tuesday, August 09, 2022
Voting hours are 7:00 am to 8:00 pm

2022 STATE GENERAL ELECTION will be held on Tuesday, November 08, 2022
Voting hours are 7:00 am to 8:00 pm

City Residents vote at Le Sueur County Courthouse at: 88 South Park Avenue, Le Center, MN 56057

The City of Heidelberg uses mail-in ballots. If you do not receive your ballot via U.S.mail, ballots are also available at the Le Sueur County Courthouse during regular business hours.

Vote Early by Mail Ballot Starts June 24, 2022.  Vote Early by a Mail Absentee Ballot.

Absentee Voting

To complete this application online you must:

      1) Be eligible to register and vote in Minnesota,

      2) Provide and email address, and

      3) Provide your identification number: MN-issued driver's license,                          Minnesota ID card or last 4 digits of Social Security Number.

Voting Qualifications

To register and vote in Minnesota on Election Day you must:

  • be 18 years old by Election Day

  • be a U.S. citizen

  • have lived in Minnesota 20 days immediately prior to Election Day

  • have any felony conviction record discharged, expired, or completed

  • not be under court-ordered guardianship where a court has revoked your voting rights and have not been ruled legally incompetent by a court of law
