Cornerstone "New" St. Scholastica Church founded in Heidelberg
Open Coffee-Schnapps House, business block built, Anikoz Hall with dance & music by Heidelberg Band
Creamery also became a cheese factory - only one in Nicollet and Le Sueur Cty
Wood Fire Steam Engine/Threshing Machine was used and brought into the area

Volunteer Fire Department, used church bell for fire alarm later built the Bell Tower

Heidelberg Athletic Association established, combination include with the Chamber of Commerce, Jaycees, American Legion, Jaycees, VFW, and more.
Bicentennial Celebration brought local, county, state, and regional people to Heidelberg. From presentations and speeches by law makers and local government offiials to food and social hour and the largest Euchre tournament still in record. This celebration was one that history recorded.

An Era in Progress
Written in 1976 for the Bicentennial Celebration of Heidelberg by a group of volunteers who worked to
bring Heidelberg's history to print and pictures.
In 1970 a group of citizens in Heidelberg created the Heidelberg Athletic Association. Over the past few decades this association has continued on promoting community involvement. There have been Heidelberg Softball teams, sports affiliations, and more. Modern day Heidelberg Athletic Association promotes and directs the annual Heidelberg Community Day in September as well as managing all aspects of the Heidelberg parks and fields.
